  • Jumpers For Goalposts Regional Tour

Through funding awarded from Arts Council England we delivered a small tour and 10 dance workshops to rural Northumberland schools this summer.

We delivered 10 workshops fusing dance and football together for Northumberland schools at Dance City, Newcastle. We gave the students a tour of the building including the theatre and delivered a full days workshop for free.

We then rehearsed our show Jumpers For Goalposts in Alnwick Playhouse refining the 235 minutes performance for outdoor shows, ready for festivals this summer.

We performed at Feltonbury Arts Festival, Mouth Of The Tyne Festival and Stockton International Arts Festival and have had wonderful audiences and feedback.

If you would like to book our show for festivals in 2024, email us at hello@meta4dance.com.

    Jumpers For Goalposts

Jumpers for Goalposts is a new football dance show for the whole family to enjoy.

Over 2 weeks, we rehearsed in Dance City and Alnwick Playhouse to create the best football dance show possible!

We then delivered a day-long football dance workshop to 5 Northumbrian schools in Dance City to give the children the opportunity of being in a huge dance space and see what opportunities there are for them.

We finished off the project with a Northumberland tour! We delivered a football dance workshop, free drinks, and a show to Felton, Seaton Delaval, Thropton and Acklington.

What a tour it was! We have had fantastic feedback; adults joining our weekly class, schools enquiring about day-long school workshops, and children wanting to carry on dancing!

If you would us to deliver a workshop or performance to your school or community, get in touch.

This project is supported by Arts Council England, Dance City, Alnwick Playhouse, Northumberland County Council, November Club, RISE, and Northumberland Football Association.

    Tranquil

Tranquil is a collaboration between Meta4 Dance Company and Pelican Theatre creating a contemporary dance experience for rural communities in the North East.

Meta4 collaborated with Pelican to create 2 high quality workshops that were curated for rural communities with support from Helix Arts throughout August. We worked over 3 months with 3 different focus groups to discuss and learn about the barriers stopping audiences from participating and watching dance. From our learnings, we created a package which consisted of 2 workshops followed by a double bill of Meta4’s ‘Confluence’ and Pelican’s ‘Blue Mind’. This package was delivered to two communities, in Northumberland and Newcastle in October 2022.

If you would like to hear more about this, email us - hello@meta4dance.com
