A week of creative expression with industry experts, exploring movement and dance right here in the heart of Northumberland. Students will learn from industry professionals, create their own performance work which will be shared at the end of the week. And take home a free Meta4 T-shirt.

Meta4 Dance Company's summer school is the perfect place for young people to be creative and inspired. With experienced and skilled instructors, this week provides a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their technique and creativity in dance as well as learn about other parts of creating a dance performance.
They will work with Charlie and Lily, our directors, to create a brand new dance performance which they will perform on the main stage at Alnwick Playhouse. Families, guardians and carers can by tickets to the final performance from the Alnwick Playhouse website.

What is Contemporary dance?
Contemporary dance is a style of interpretive dance that embraces innovation & blends techniques from various genres such as ballet & modern.
Contemporary dance can portray characters, replay events, or convey personal stories. It can be performed to various styles of music, spoken word poems, songs, or silence.
Meet the teachers
The summer school is taught by our very own directors Charlie Dunne and Lily Horgan. Charlie has a wealth of experience performing, teaching, and facilitating across the UK and Europe, and Lily has a vast amount of experience teaching for our company members and performing internationally. They both have specialist knowledge delivering dance for young people with SEND.
